One of the largest aquarium at Kuala Lumpur, this unique aquarium beneath the Kuala Lumpur Concention Center (KLCC) have amazing showcase of 5,000 land bound and aquatic creature exhibits over a 60,000 sq ft floor space, which includes the Malaysia’s longest underwater moving tunnel.

From the entrance at Lower Level 1, you will pass the ticketing counter into the main lobby. After the lobby is the first gallery – Evolution Zone, walk further you will reach The Stream and Shipwreck where you can see beautiful corals. After that you have to walk down a stairs down to the Flooded Forest Gallery and the Coast Gallery (Lower Level 2).
The place of Interest at Lower Level 1 of Aquaria KLCC :
School children loves the Piranha tanks, just because seeing flesh eating piranha in cartoons and movies is too mainstream, while seeing a real piranha is a thrill. They will ask … is the skeleton in the tank the remains of someone unfortunate felling onto the tank ?
Otters is another creature fascinating the children. The Asian small clawed otter captivity is specially build with glass on most sides and a small glass dome in the center where you can have a close peek with the otters at their eye level. Otters are very active creatures, they swim, the crawl, they jump, they roll, and sometimes they snooze and sleep.
At the shipwreck section, it is a very interesting place where you can learn what you can find in a shipwreck. They also have a display of beautiful sea corals and information of places you can find coral reefs and shipwreck dive site in Malaysia.
Coral reefs is a habitat for many different types coral fishes. Its ecosystem is very diverse and each different coral reefs is unique from each other. Fishes staying in the coral reefs are very colorful and comes is different size and shape. The infamous clown fish also can be found in coral reefs.
Creatures of the coral reefs are adapted to hide and camouflage with their surrounding. Sometimes you need a keen eyes to find them. Look around, they might be under the rocks or between corals.
Corals are beautiful marine invertebrates that lives in in compact colonies of many identical polyps. The tentacle like projection of the corals moves with the movement of the sea current. They are colorful under sunlight, and some appears glowing under blue or ultraviolet lights.
Proceed on is the Living Ocean exhibits. Take the chance to take photos with the sharks and stingrays swimming across the transparent underwater tunnel. Meet the sand tiger sharks, sea turtle and beautiful corals at the Aquatheater.
Amaze by wonderful facts and collections at Weird and Wonderful before you go back to Lower Level 1 where the Alantis Souvenir Store is located. You can purchase quality Aquaria KLCC merchandise and Sea themed merchandise at the Alantis Souvenir Store. Before you proceed to the Exit, you can visit the Station Aquarius where amazing fossils and preserved specimen is displayed, and there is a seahorse lab, jellyfish lab, moon lab and eco lab. It is a great place for kids to explore and learn.
Place of Interest at Lower Level 2 of Aquaria KLCC:
one eye catching wonder when you venture down the stairs from lower level 1 to lower level 2 is a two story tall cylindrical vertical fish tank. The tank rise seamlessly from the bottom tropical tank towards the ceiling. You can see school of fishes swimming in circular motion within the cylindrical tank.
This is the Deep Forest zone, where you can see hanging artificial trees and vines from the ceiling and sound of the forest. Huge freshwater fishes from the tropical region can be seen here.
The major attraction of the Aquaria KLCC is the underwater moving tunnel. Visitors can venture under the ocean like tank and view the underwater species in their natural-like habitat. All kinds of salt water fishes, sharks, sea turtles, sting rays and corals can be seen here. The water is crystal clear and fishes are freely swimming above the tunnel. It is the time where you can shoot amazing photos like huge stingrays swim above your head.
The underwater moving tunnel in Aquaria KLCC is the longest in Malaysia, with the length of 90 meters.
Meet the amazing Giant Japanese Spider Crab at Aquaria KLCC. It is the world’s biggest crab species.
Don’t forget to be amazed by the collection of shark tooth of different species.
