Kuching Festival and Food Fair 2023

The annual Kuching Festival and Food Fair 2023 is a celebration in conjunction with Kuching City Day. The three weeks long celebration is packed with Fun and Activities, Performance and Art, Music and Entertainment. The stage for the Kuching Festival spread around Kuching South City Council (MBKS) grounds. So, don’t miss it.

The Food Fair will be the main reason everyone near and far gather at the MBKS grounds as famous food from all around Kuching City and its near by town and villages, all come and have their food stalls here in one place. There is no extensive traveling around to have a famous dish of rice from one end of the city and go to another end of the city for a famous dish of desserts and drinks. The “All In One” month of food heaven really makes the food fair crowded everyday.

All the stalls are encourage to show off their creativity in showcase of their food offerings. Stalls are all well decorated with ornaments and the food offerings are in some time better decorated than what is being offer in their original shop. Although most stalls will only offer the few top favorite food and drinks from what they usually being offer in their original shop. A side note will be, only premium foods are showcased in the food festival that makes this event truly worth it to have a visit.

Creativity have no limits when try to promoting the food being on sell. Some stalls have creative artworks while some have creative catch phrase to attract buyers.

Visitors can see how their food being prepared at the Kuching Food Fair. It is amazing to see various cooking technique and skills when the chef flipping and tossing food with style. Most of the food are cooked on the spot when ordered and hence waiting time can be significant when the demand is high. All the wait was not wasted while watching them cooking and the food is served freshly hot from the stove.

There are many different variety of food being offered in the stalls. You can opt to walk around the food fair first before making the decision on what to purchase for your dinner that night. There are always new food at the food fair every year, hence do look around for food that you had never tasted before.
