Numeral Eight Curry House is a famous curry house at Alor Setar, kedah serving delicious asian fusion dish with specialty in curry dishes. Their famous curry fish head is one of the local favorites. They also serve many different dishes such as curry squid, mutton and beef.

The Curry House is located beside Jalan Lubok Peringgi and it is easily been overlooked due to its huge trees in front of the Curry House. The compound is fenced with decorated wall while the Curry House is a concrete building with open walls allowing good ventilation and lighting. This place is un air conditioned but kept cool by surrounding foliage.

This place is usually fully packed with people from near and far. They serve ala cart dine in and also take away. Most of the dishes will be finished before 2 pm due to popular demand.

The opening hours are short and only available for Brunch and Lunch. Be there early as parking space may also be limited.

The environment around the restaurant is comfortable and classic.

The restaurant environment is very comfortable, with ornamental wooden tables and chairs of different designs at each corner. Some are catered for couples while others are catered for family and larger gatherings. Baby chairs are also available for small children.

The restaurant is also wheelchair friendly with gentle slopes.

There are many ornaments and decorations around the restaurant. Even the pillars are elaborately decorated with river stones.

A huge crystal ornament at the center of the dinning area. You won’t miss it as it is visible from the entrance.

The decorative trishaw is one of the famous photographic features in this restaurant. People loves to take family photos and selfies at this spot.

The Curry House serve dishes rather fast, especially if you pick ala cart and individual meals. Most of the dishes are prepared as “fast food” style, where dishes are prepared in bulk and serve individually.

We try out their famous curry fish head, mutton, beef and squid.

The menu is also simple. No.8 Curry House Menu available in ala catre/individual meals, over rice and take away version. Some Prices are according to market prices especially their fish and tiger prawns dishes.

Spicyness is measurable in this restaurant to suits your taste buds. It is Level according to heat percentage. You can choose from Level one till level five. According to them, Level one is 20% spicy, level two is 40% spicy, level three is 60% spicy, level four is “there is a no in between” , and level five is 100% spicy.

  • Fried Eggs and Hard boiled Eggs.

As for beverage there are three type available: Herbal Tea, Chinese Tea and Mineral water.

The take away menu is slightly price diffrently. Mostly are the same. Hence don’t worry if it may be overpriced for take away meals compared to dine in meals.
