The Bronze Cats Sculpture of Gala City, Kuching

Kuching City is also known as Cat City. There is allot of cat statues and monument in the City. Hence it is not surprise that the culture being carried on into the new established commercial zone – Gala City. The 6 Bronze Cat Sculpture is the star here.

Gala City is a mixed residential and commercial development zones that was recently being developed in Kuching. With a strategic location beside the main trunk road Jalan Tun Jugah which connects the downtown with the Kuching international airport. It is close to Premier 101 Food Centre, City One Megamall, and various Automobile outlets.

Gala City is easily been recognized with its modern glass shelled buildings and green surroundings. It feature many roundabouts within the commercial zones instead of traffic light junctions.

The Black colored Bronze Cat Sculpture is clearly seen in front of the Gala City office blocks. The sculpture depicts 6 grown up local cat guarding the perimeter. Each cat act differently. Some are playing and some are resting. They all facing the direction of the traffic.

The bronze cat spice up the place with taste of modern art and reminds the ongoing traffic to slow down. At night, the sculpture is brightly lit up with LED spot lighting.
