The hornbill water fountain was one of the famous landmark at Kuching waterfront . It a group of three flying hornbill stainless steel sculpture which surrounds a fountain pond.

Location : Kuching Waterfront, between James Brooke Bristol and the Chinese History Museum, opposite Tua Pek Kong Chinese temple.
The three metallic hornbill is formed by different groups of stacked panels. The two hornbill facing the road have each two and three panels stacked, while one hornbill facing the rear have four panels stacked.
The hornbill sculpture is design in such a way appears 3D looking when viewed at certain angle. The stainless steel panel structure is stacked in layers. The largest panel is at the back while the smaller panel is at the front.
At the bottom edge of each panels, there is rows of water nozzles facing downwards. During certain times of the day, there will be water fountain show which showcase a display of flying hornbill above the waters.
The hornbill fountain water have its flow across several pool steps and weirs. There is several pools that leads towards the Sarawak river.
The hornbill fountain pool is at the highest level, and you can track the flow over several weirs till the lowest near the Sarawak river.
The locals have says this location is one of the small stream tributary that leads to the Sarawak river.
This hornbill fountain and pools is at the mid point of the Kuching Waterfront. Don’t forget there is several attractions nearby, including Sarawak river cruise jetty, James Brooke Bristol, Chinese History Museum, The bronze cat sculpture and the Tua Pek Kong Temple.
