Matang Wildlife Centre is a place to meet endangered species of Borneo. Here you can find the Borneon Orangutan, Rhinoceros Hornbill, Malaysian Sun Bear, Sambar Deer and many more. This is also a Rehabilitation Centre for orangutan under orangutan adoption programme, where young orang utans, who were either orphaned or rescued from captivity, are taught how to survive in the wild.

Meet Orangutan Ritchie at Semenggoh Wildlife Center Kuching

The Bornean orangutan is a critically endangered species, threaten by deforestation, palm oil plantations and hunting. Orangutans that had previously been orphaned or rescue from captivity are currently thriving and roaming freely at the Semenggoh Nature Reserve with usual visits to the Wildlife Centre for free meals. Visitors can watch these semi-wild orangutans in their natural habitat here.
