Malaysia is a Federation of 13 states plus the Federal Capital of Kuala Lumpur and the Federal Territories of Labuan and Putrajaya. Of the 13 states, 11 are one the Malayan Peninsular and 2 on the Borneo Island. The peoples of Malaysia comprise a number of different ethnic groups : Malay, Chinese, Indian, the indigenous Orang Asli of the Peninsular, the indigenous ethnic of Sabah and Sarawak and many of inter-racial marriages. There are at least 35 distinct ethnic groups from Sabah and Sarawak. These include Iban, Kadazan, Bidayuh, Malanau, Kenyah, Kayan, Dusun, Murut, Bajau, Kelabit, Bisaya, Lun Bawang and many others. This multi-racial character of Malaysia, with all the major religious affiliation, makes it the leading role model nation for the world trying to co-exist in diversity.

SBC Biodiversity Day 2023

Sarawak Biodiversity Center (SBC) celebrates Biodiversity Day every year with a public open house that invites public to come and enjoy the fun moments via various activities that allow public to learn more about biodiversity of Sarawak. This year the SBC celebrates its biodiversity day in conjunction with the international day for biological diversity. The theme this year is “From Agreement to Action : Build Back Biodiversity”.

Tasik Biru, Bau, Sarawak | Blue Lake Boat Ride & Resort City

Tasik Biru, or know as Blue Lake of Bau, Sarawak, was previously a largest open-air gold and antimony mining in Sarawak in 1898-1921. The 390meters long, 160meters wide and 45meters deep mining crater had become a tourist attraction as it feature a huge lake with amazing stone cliff surrounding, small waterfall that flow directly into the lake and a secondary forest.

Miri Handicraft Center

The locals of Miri City did make amazing handicraft, and the best place to look for vast collection of handicraft in Miri City is the Miri Handicraft Center. You can find woven basket, wood carvings, beads and ornaments, traditional clothing, paintings and traditional musical instruments here. All are handcrafted by local natives.
